Is buying from Reverb safe?

Never actually given Reverb much thought until tonight. I downloaded the app, had a look, and there's a guitar on there that I've had major MAJOR GAS for for ages.
Is it safe enough? Are we talking same risk as eBay or better/worse? What comeback do you have if there are any problems?

The GAS is strong! Beer and rum don't help.

Always pay using a safe method (ie. not PayPal Friends & Family/Gift or bank transfer).

If the seller won't accept that, then walk away.

I've bought via reverb a lot over the last few years. I generally stick to actual shops who use Reverb as a store-front, but no issues. 

If you stick to a credit card via paypal you should always have enough protection if anything goes wrong.

I've bought and sold a number of items on Reverb and never had a problem yet. I guess that like any such marketplace there are bound to be some assholes and dodgy characters but I feel like it's less of a Wild West than eBay. As others have said, pay by safe means & you should be fine.

Dare I say I’ve never come across a scam listing on Reverb, Bought loads since 2014, never a problem

When my wife sees me with my head in my phone late at night, she always accuses me of being addicted to inappropriate sites with enticing photos and videos. She's not wrong. Reverb is worse than crack. Love that app!

Same. Just checked my purchase history. Shocking amount of junk bought. Where the hell is it all?!

I bought a guitar off Reverb back in October from a guy in the Netherlands. Deal worked out perfectly for both of us

I've bought and sold Gibsons and Rickenbackers from the UK and Germany on Reverb with no issues. 
Usual caveats apply, don't ignore your gut feelings etc.

I use Reverb more than eBay these days and I've never had a problem. I've bought a couple of high end instruments from Europe and each one has been hassle free.

The real test of these sites is when something goes wrong and I've never had to test Reverb's response in this situation.

Reverb is my second preferred site after here. I've do a fair few lower value (sub £250) buys and sells there with no issues. 
Much much much better than eBay and Facebooks or gumtrees
