If you have a treated room (treated for acoustics, like a home studio) then a condenser mic will be fine, otherwise a dynamic would capture more of your voice and less of the room sound, albeit you need to be a closer to a dynamic mic than a condenser.

I find a blue snowball is great for zoom. Not sure about singing though.

I use mine with a scissor arm stand from amason. Does the job nicely.

I use SM58...a foam pop filter is useful.

There is not a lot of difference. They are both dynamic mics and that is why you need to be close to it, ideally no farther than 15cm (6") away. Your e825S will certainly do the job.

I use an AKG C1000S condenser that I had lying around. They've got pretty decent range, sound good and they're relatively resistant to vibration if you have it sitting on your desk. I think there's one on eBay for about £65 at the moment.

The only problem with using a condenser and a Helix into your interface is that you'll need to enable phantom power - the Helix doesn't play nicely with phantom power on its XLR outputs, so you'll need to use the jack outputs from the Helix to the interface.

  • I use the helix lt and a clip on lav mic. It’s battery powered. I’ve assigned a snapshot for muting it. Way less hassle than a mic and a stand. The one I was recommended was £14 off Amazon .
