SOLD FS CORT CEC7 ELECTRO-CLASSICAL NYLON ACOUSTIC, SOFT-CASE £280

edited April 2021 in Acoustics £
This is the top end of the Cort CEC series - the CEC7. For those who haven’t tried Cort, these are really well made, great value for money instruments. I bought this new around August last year as an impulse purchase. Its been standing in my living room for the occasional mucking around. But not getting used now as I am more of a strummer so tend to use my steel string acoustic more often.

Main specs -

SFX body with Venetian cutaway
Solid cedar top
Pau Ferro back and sides
Ovangkol board
Mahogany neck
45mm nut with 25.3” scale
Fishman sonicore pickup and Presys preamp
Traditional fan bracing and multiple binding

The guitar feels and plays nicely with a comfortable neck. Its in “as new” condition and comes with a Cort soft case. Happy to send more pics to interested buyers. New ones are around £475-500; am looking for £350 £325, £299 £280 which I think is a nice bargain given its clean condition.

Not keen to post as it doesn’t have a hard case and unfortunately can’t meet at present. I would suggest interested buyers get in touch and if you are willing to commit I am happy to hold it for you till the restrictions ease and you can collect (hopefully early - mid March!). I can meet you within a reasonable distance if that helps AFTER lockdown is relaxed.

Great guitars. I had the CE5, sold it on this forum if I remember correctly. Lovely tone and fantastic playability. Great neck.

  • Thanks, yes, they are incredibly well made for that price. Would hang on to it if I was more accomplished at fingerpicking.

That's a beautiful looking guitar . . Cort make some absolutely fantastic guitars . . . Good luck with your sale :-)
Id just like to point out that, despite all the video and DNA evidence, it genuinely wasn't me, your Honour  !

Thanks! They are indeed. I used to have a Cort steel string acoustic as well which was a fantastic instrument for a fair price. Unfortunately they don’t seem to hold value well if you buy from new. Would help if some big-name musicians used them!

Just out of interest , what are those bobbin type things on the ends of the strings so you don’t have to tie knots?

I guess they are like ball-end strings rather than the ones which need knotting. That’s how I got it strung from the dealer.

They’re called bridge beads. I find them easier to use than a conventional knot and I think they look neater.

But both of those views may be a reflection on my string timing skills.
