Some of you may have seen this listed on this here forum not long back.

Offering it back up for sale, as I just don't seem to have bonded with it in the time I've had it - try as I might!

Specs below:
  • Warmoth VIP body (bit thicker than a Strat), which was professionally stripped and refinished (nitro).
  • Figured mahogany body, with flame maple top.
  • Warmoth walnut neck, with flame maple fretboard.
  • Modern construction neck - 'standard thin' - 10 to 16 inch compound radius.
  • Stainless steel SS6150 frets, with clear gloss on neck.
  • 25.5” scale length.
  • Graph Tech tusq nut.
  • Truss rod adjustment at side of heel.
  • Schaller locking machine heads.
  • Tone Pros wrap over bridge.
  • 3 way switch with 2 x volume knobs.
  • Bulldog 'Fat PAF' humbuckers with 4 way conductors.
It's nicely set up with a fairly low action (not mega low).
Sounds bloody lovely, but think I'm going to go back to single coils.

On that note, I would be up for a trade for a slim neck Strat with 9.5 inch radius, or a similar slim neck Tele.

Price is as I paid - £1,000 (now sold elsewhere).
Comes with a lovely Hiscox hard case.

Condition is very, very good.
There's a slight blemish at the heel of the neck, but it's not is a position where you could ever feel it when playing, not even when you're up the nose bleed end of the fretboard.

Got a box for shipping so happy to discuss quotes.

Please PM if you're interested or need any other details.

P.S. apologies if pics are a tad slow to load on mobile devices.

Had to use the dreaded Photobucket, as Imgur was having somewhat of a hissy fit when I was trying to upload.

That fretboard was such a great choice for the body. Flame-tastic, GLWTS Lew

Absolutely @pjf - credit to the previous owner for his fine work on this one.

I was straight in when I first saw it, absolutely love the look - shame it’s just not working for me.

  • Beautiful guitar! If I weren't working on a similar build I'd be interested :) good luck with the sale!

  • I have a partscaster strat I'd consider trading against this but lockdown does not allow us to sit down, play them and figure out if they're "for us" - it would need to be good for me to let my strat go...

    Glws!

Nice!  I see it has the angled heel, for better access to the upper frets.  Does it also have an angled neck pocket, to give the right neck angle for the wraparound bridge, or is the neck shimmed?

@Philly_Q ;  As the previous owner, I can tell you that the neck isn`t shimmed.  it doesn`t need to be as the body and neck are made by Warmoth to match each other.  not every Warmoth neck can be mated to every Warmoth body. you have to be careful when ordering either part as a mismatch can result.
The guitar is set up to have a pretty low action and there is plenty of adjustment left on the bridge posts. the whole guitar was assembled by luthier / guitar builder John LeVoi of Lincolnshire.

@stan Thanks for the info.  I thought that would be the case.  I only asked because I'm a Warmoth geek and have spent many, many hours studying every nook and cranny of their site, so I know all the possible permutations, just wanted to confirm.  :)

@Philly_Q Apologies that I didn’t get back to you yesterday - I’ve only just seen your comment.

Probably best that Stan replied anyway as he’s much more knowledgeable than I :)

No worries @Lewligan! ; It's a lovely guitar with great specs, and I love seeing what people do with Warmoth stuff, but the standard thin neck is not for me.

    Have a bump though.  :)

Another bump. No real interest so far, so might consider breaking it for parts, which would be a shame.

@lewligan ; try facebook.  I had quite a lot of interest there and you just beat someone on there to the purchase.  having said that, you`ll probably get more by breaking it.  use my selling fotos if you want.  GLWS

Cheers @stan - ideally want to hold off breaking it as you did a superb job putting it together.

I think a trade would be nice but not had any offers on that front either (yet).
