Picking hand index finger problem

Hi everyone,
Due to the pandemic I've been playing my guitar more. However, I've noticed that the top of my index finger on my picking hand has started to bend towards my middle finger, and twist slightly.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on picking technique to stop this getting any worse?
Perhaps I'll have to start playing finger style more often.
