East Mids Jams? - Post Covid

What's Hot
BoromedicBoromedic Frets: 4770
As the title says I guess, I remember when I was overseas there was a number of get togethers. Obviously since Covid there's been none!

Any on the back burner in Leicester or the East Mids once we banish Covid back from whence it came? Put me name down if so ;)

Cheers!

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

We’ve had a few at Quad in Leicester in the past. That’s a good venue and has big rooms and a social area. Just need to get enough people interested, or do a smaller one room event. I’d be happy to come along and guitar, drum or sing as required.

Brill, well count me in, I can do Quad easy enough, guitar and drums I'm good with. Not sure on backing vox but I can work on it, lol!

Quad is good for me too.  I got scared and cried off the last one, and I’ve regretted it ever since.

I’ll bring my anal kazoo but I’m afraid that, due to COVID rules, I won’t be able to share.

Don’t know, never been to one before. I do know a good drummer and singer who’d probably be willing to pitch up and help out if they’re needed.

I've always wanted to go to a forum jam/meet-up, but a) I'm horribly socially awkward, and b) I live a long way from anywhere  :s

    You must live near somewhere?

@LastMantra This is the easiest possible way to meet up and jam. Just make sure you bring your guitar. You’ll realise that most people are in the same boat.

It would be cool to put a face to some of you guys and meet up with some people with a common interest as I don't really know anyone like that here anymore.
Maybe if there was a central Scotland one...
    Maybe I should organise one...

Theres only socially awkward people at the fretboard jams so you'd fit in fine. At the end of the event you never have to face anyone again, so its better than a local jam or being in an actual band.

We're all worried about our own playing in front of others, so we hardly notice what anyone else is playing. The sense of achievement and enjoyment factor is huge though!
