  • It looks like a serious bit of kit and a good friend has one and loves it. But I'll admit to being a little confused as to why the TPS fellas absolutely gushed over it in their video, it didn't sound like anything groundbreaking, to my ears. Perhaps I'm used to plugin reverbs which are generally superb, Valhalla etc, so reverb pedals need to be particularly amazing to blow me away like this one did with Dan and Mick.

  • I've dabbled with some expensive pedals in my time (and still have a few of them), but the price of the CXM 1978, amazing though it sounds, is ridiculous.

I’ve got one. Great sounding pedal, very user friendly. Agree it’s crazy expensive though, I’ll be interested to hear comparisons against the Universal Audio pedal when it’s released.

Think you could go preamp mk2, a delay with presets and one of these and there’d be a lot of ground covered.

Good deals with: handsomerick, majorscale, gassage, sticker, smudge_lad, anglian, edinfield99, thewiddler, thomfripp, notonlybutalso, JDE, chebellanga

Also if you look around some places have them listed for £799 and some for £899

I heard there’s a few due mid-April mate. Also you may be able to secure one by leaving a small deposit. Maybe  ;)

Yep. Lovely sounding but in all honesty like lots of chase stuff I've yet to really get to grips with it. Love the look of the UAudio stuff as well.

I think the great thing about the chase bliss stuff is they sound great if you treat them as a normal pedal but with the added depth of you want it and obviously with presets on top. Obviously expensive if you don’t utilise the midi functionality and just treat it as set and forget

One of the things that put me off this was the inability to have any spillover between presets so in a live setting it’s not useable for me. That killed any idea of this pedal kinda. Shame cos it sounds pretty epic. Would love to try one but £800 to take a punt on it working live is too much of a gamble. None of the reviews online seem to address the spillover thing which is weird because for a verb I would have thought a lot of people might want that feature, or maybe not apparently!

That is odd, I kinda thought presets were just moving the faders to different positions, which if you did that manually surely it'd spill over? I know less than nothing about DSP programming though.

Just looked into this and when changing presets the tail kind of fades out and the new sound fades in.

I know you can use an expression pedal or midi to change parameters within a preset which is the same as moving the faders

Is there any online examples of the fade?

i spoke to CB and they said the pedal didn’t have enough DSP to have spillover as it was all being used in the algorithms. They wanted them to be the best they could. I assume more dsp would mean bigger and more expensive unit.

Not sure sorry, there’s a chase bliss user group on Facebook, I asked the question on there and that was what was said.

I managed to resist getting one of these for nearly a year but today I finally caved and ordered one. As noted above it's £100 cheaper at Soundgas than Andertons - not sure what that's about?

I've been using the UA Golden reverb lately, which is great, but the lack of MIDI has become frustrating now that I'm back gigging again.

  • The Pedal Club have one, I’ve subscribed for a bit, going to see when it becomes available for borrowing. Just intrigued to see what a £800 reverb pedal sounds like.
