  • 5pts @poopot ;- Atmospheric, melodic and nice note choices, I particularly liked the mandolin-like ending
    3pts @digitalkettle ;- I really liked how this took off in the second-half
    1pt @fastonebaz ;- Another great one

    I would have preferred to dish out points to more than three people and definitely think the more mellow tones work better, as they're simply more apt to the backing - which makes me rue my choice of approach a little!  :)  Genuinely feel harsh not awarding more points and the order of who took which points was a real toss-up.

    The mellow ones win out with this backing track by the looks of it.

    5 pts @ChrisRG ;
    3 pts @fastonebaz ;

    I also agree that the mellow ones fit best. However, I actually like the raw original backing track too!

    Could have easily altered the order and switched in other solos as there were some really good ones posted.

    So many great entries.  Lots of variation in tone,  quite similar pieces though, interesting how we all come up with these. We'll played everyone.

    5pts @poopot loved the tremolo picking and final lick great sound
    3pts @chrisrg something about the timing of the phrases appeals to me,  like how there was variable space between each section
    1pts @imalrightjack even with all that gain you keep it really tight well played,  plus I'm a sucker for that kind of tone.

    Good crop again this month, well done all.

    5 Points @ChrisRG - Loved that Acoustic approach, very subtle but very moving.

    3 Points @digitalkettle - Very Soulful but also some extravagance in there too, all fitted nicely.

    1 Point @fastonebaz - Very nice feel, almost a Spanish feel in parts and some very nice lines.

    Plenty of solos here worthy of points, very difficult choices.

    Great to have so many entries again. Hard to narrow down to three.

    5 points : @ChrisRG : Good tone and feel. Melodic. A perfect fit to the backing

    3 points : @digitalkettle : Inventive, melodic. Nice note choices

    1 point : @fastonebaz : A nice understated feel. Reminds be a bit of The Stranglers.

    As others have said, really difficult to rank these

    5 points @digitalkettle - really liked the note choices on this one.  This one sat best with the backing for me.  The section at around 30 secs was great

    3 points @fastonebaz - great playing as usual.  Just pipped this time though.  Great feel though

    1 point @stratman3142 - solid playing and melody.  loved the ending.
