Throw a Mustang into the mix for the shorter scale and trem.... ;)
I agree with this. Those Mustangs look a nice guitar too.

They both look horrible to me. But if forced I'd choose Jazzmaster, under duress.

Have had a hankering for a Jazzmaster for a while, and have just got a G&L Doheny Tribute.

It is bloody lovely. Needs a fret-polish, but that aside, plays and sounds great. Even stays in tune!

Never tried a Jaguar, so am going to have to say Jazzmaster until I do  :)

Couldn’t cut through the band with a Jag? Wow!
Ach, it’s a common theme for me: got a busy sounding band, and I always dial in too much high and not enough low.
To be fair I’m in a 3-piece so plenty of room.

I had the same thought but decided to go for a Jaguar because it’s “more different” - the scale length and the switching. Also seeing Johnny Marr playing a whole set of varied songs on Jaguars influenced my decision as well (started with a normal Jag but ended up with a Marr).

I've always liked the look of Jazzamasters, but I'm quite short and so they don't fit me that well.

If I ever have enough spare cash I'm probably going to get one built with a shorter scale neck and slightly shrunk down body.

Jagwah for me. I've not played a Jazzmaster so my choice is moot.

I would happily chose between your testicles if it meant keeping both Jag and JM on the table. I had no idea it was an option! :D :D

Looks like a Jazzmaster to me.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

I love Jazzmasters but they look silly on my 5’9” frame, so I went with one of these.

Same scale as a jaguar and has a far inferior vibrato system

Also has the weakest piss like pickups known to man

And out of phase is awful

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Jag for me, but that's mainly because I like the short scale. A Jag with Jazzmaster pickups - or I suppose it could be a short scale Jazzmaster -  would be cool.

Actually, this wasn't a good analogy. I already have three kids so my gonads are purely ornamental now.

    Whereas my offsets...
