The fact there has been no Nels Cline Jazzmaster is ridiculous.

The same to a lesser extent for a James Dean Bradfield Les Paul.

    I'd love a Weller Casino.
On that note, I'd love to see his ex band mate Rod Poole have a signature Martin 000-18. IMO, one of the finest guitarists the UK has ever produced but no one seems to have heard of him.

But a 17 tone Martin for a guitarist no one knows might not be the best idea out there....

I wouldn't be able to afford a  Gibson Mick Ronson Les Paul Custom with a stripped front..
He deserves a tribute guitar though,I bet a lot of players wanted a Les Paul because of him..
Never saw an Andy Powell Gibson Flying V either..
Or a Robert Smith Jazzmaster with an added Teisco Pickup..
Maybe one or all of these have existed, but I don't know about them..

Kevin Chilcott of Royal/Royale guitars made an Andy Powell Flying V, but Gibson have ignored him.

Didn't Schecter make a Robert Smith signature?  A weird looking thing with a huge body... but I can't remember what the guitar was like.
Yes on the Robert Smith Schecter thing,I think on him with a Jazzmaster though..

    Poor Andy,,he deserves recognition..
When I think of older flying V players..Albert King,Dave Davies,Hendrix,Schenker and Andy Powell..
Did Lonnie Mack play a V too..?
Lonnie’s had the Bigsby straddling the gap in the V which is always a weird look. Gibson did make a signature model at some point, a quick Google says possibly just for Carter guitars in Nashville in 1993/94 so they’ll be rare as hen’s teeth and possibly deserving a reissue. I suspect that the nostalgia market for Lonnie isn’t huge but maybe as a different V...

See also my suggestion of the Epiphone Poppa Chubby.

I have no idea who Poppa Chubby is/was, but he clearly had excellent taste in guitars... What isn’t to love about a ‘59 style Korina V with P90s at a reasonable price?

I know a bit about Chubby and very little evidence that he used his sig Epiphone very much if at all. Why he chose that design I’ve no idea.
He does a lot of the white cat with a strat blues but he also did a bunch of stuff mixing blues and hip hop which was more distinctive.

Yamaha SGV - they could have had a Doctor Who signature model.

Fender Aerodyne Strat, though I think there was a limited edition run of these quite recently.

Gibson Nighthawk, though again I think there was an Epiphone version of these fairly recently.
Spotted this original (seemingly well-repaired) Nighthawk on eBay today, which I thought looked pretty good for the money!

there we go the BCNR chap and instrument. It surprises me that a young British person would have much idea who Bloomfield was and stylistically it’s very different playing.
Uggh! That top horn is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! I'm off to clean my eyeballs with bleach after seeing that

Jackson/Charvel Surfaster, in its various guises, or the Jackson Scott Ian SG type they had out for a while. Played one once but the body finish was horrible, like an aluminium step. Played well, and was good quality. Shop it was in was blowing it out for a steal, half price more or less.

Vigier Shawn Lane in the 10th anniversary edition not limited to ten guitars. I've only ever seen one for sale at World Guitars IIRC. Used, never.

Always hankered aftyer a Yamaha Pac510v. S style guitar with one Seymour Duncan pick up. But the genius is the pickup's a tribucker - so you have a blade switch which toggles between single coil, P90 and Humbucker. Brilliant IMO. Not sure if they've stopped making them or they're just very hard to acquire in the UK. Always meant to ask @rossyamaha whenever I'm on here. (Is he still a member?)

2nd that. And if they do, a Kim Thayil model. No one has done more to promote the S100.

I'd quite like a Charvel Model 1 reissue with pointy headstock. Loved the neck on my old Model 1C!

The Gibson Luther Dickinson ES-335 with P90s and a Bigsby was an interesting, if short lived, signature model that was a useful variation on the standard 335. Would like to see that back, even though I could never afford one.
I own this guitar,  sourced it from another member of this forum. Hands down it is the sweetest 335 variant I have ever played. I will never understand why Gibson did such a short run of them as it is a truly classic combination of great parts.
You are very lucky to have one. It just seems like such an obvious, and useful variation on the 335.
I think they made a non-sig, production 335 with P90s a few years ago (no Bigsby IIRC) and I'm surprised they've not made that model since, particularly in the wake of the endless signature models that are basically stock ES33x guitars with some very minor variation or other.

Oh, and greedily adding to my list of imaginary reissues I could never afford would be a walnut finish 345 and 355 (were they late 60s?).

And what about Gretsch doing a signature Jack White Copper Triple Jet?

I just don't get why people crave for a signature model of a guitar which is a standard model of a certain brand in a certain colour with standard spec. Forget the association and find a similar guitar (pref in a different colour) and make music  and associations of your own. The rest is a bit silly really.
