Am I Shredding?

So, it would seem that many here like metal/shredding style stuff. I thought I’d have a crack at it as a bit of an experiment. I confess that I’m just making it up as I go along, so I appreciate that it isn’t the best composition in the world. 

Depending on how many responses I get to this I’ll give my thoughts on what I did here... which I recorded about an hour ago!

I would say the opposite, generally shred or very fast technical playing doesn't go down well here. 

Well, I guess it's shred, but I think overall that you are better off focussing on legitimate composition that is fast rather than speedy noodling. I can speedy noodle but no bugger would listen to mine! I realise that this is just a sketch of music of course.

Yes - I agree that as a piece of music it’s pretty crap. I guess I’m trying to figure out what’s ‘shredding’ and what’s ‘fast metal or heavy rock’ etc. I don’t really get it tbh! But you’re right, it was just a practice exercise I was trying out.
