FS: Fender 62 Tremolux Amp - Vintage Head + 2x10 Cab 1962 6G9-B Brownface Bassman Style...

smogfallssmogfalls Frets: 148
I've never heard an amp idle this quietly... until you play a note, it's totally silent... so stable and reliable to run too... they really don't make em' like this anymore! Grab a serious piece of music history here. This will be worth a fortune someday in the not too distant future, and until then, it'll serve you well and look damn cool too!
The breakup tones, and of course, the cleans are that typical 6G9 Tremolux/Bassman gut-punching rawness you'd expect from an amp like this.
Great cosmetic condition for her age. The tolex is excellent with just the usual kind of discolouration and scuffs here and there. The grill cloth on the cab could do with a clean, but there are no big rips etc. Just the odd snag here and there and the cloth is still nice and tight.
Alot of the components on the circuit board are non original... but excellent high quality and original spec replacements have always been used. No modifications made other than the addition of an internal bias pot, aswell as the old "ground lift switch" being changed into a standby switch... much safer and way more useful!

The power transformer has also been replaced at some point with a perfect spec, hand made in Canada replacement (Hammond 290CEX)

Still has the original tube chart inside.

Speakers...
1x original Oxford 10k5-4 Ceramic speaker
1x early 70's CTS Alnico.

Both speakers in the cab sound sweet...  although the CTS does give a slight distortion at high volumes... possibly a rubbing voice coil... maybe an easy fix.

The cab still has the all the original tilt-back legs and fittings, still nice and shiny too!

The tremolo on this amp sounds as good as they say... truly magical. I will also provide a classy, vintage looking footswitch to turn the trem on/off.
This amp was serviced, retubed and biased just 2 weeks ago.
