I fancy changing my 27" iMac into an M1 power one. It's basically as easy as ripping out the existing mainboard, installing a board from a Mac mini, using an LCD driver board to reuse the existing screen and fitting a small class D stereo amp to run the existing speakers which are really good. I can easily wire the USB ports to the back of the unit.

I know the M1 iMac is coming out soon but it will be a lot more than £600 and it will sound shit. The design is so thin it's basically got laptop speakers in it so will need decent external speakers.

Hoping to downsize my home recording set up.
Er, what is your current set up

It's not great, and l have had a lot of fun with it, but far too much stuff for what l need nowadays. All l need is a decent PC and Monitor and a good interface.
    Everything else is just Gravy.
I have recently purchased a set of Genelecs, so that's a reasonable start.

I have a Mac that I bought new last year which I've really not bonded with. Will be Ebaying it next time they have an offer on.

I'm not techy but can cut and paste - it's an Apple iMac Core i5 8GB 1TB 21.5 Inch All-In-One PC. DM me if of interest.

    OK, Cheers.
Maybe coming from 2 screens to a 21.5 might be a step a bit too far
However, you have got me thinking.....

You can link another screen on the thunderbolt / lightning port.

Why when you ask about a PC, do the Mac crowd have to jump in?
