After nearly six years I’ve finally fallen off the wagon.

What's Hot

Yep, I’ve cracked a bottle of red and am enjoying a glass, possibly the bottle by the end of the night. Just got bored of the doom and gloom everywhere and have missed the buzz. No drugs though, promise!

2019 Moillard Gamay red bergundy for anyone that’s interested.

Saluté!
Tomorrow will be a good day.

Sorry to pry but did you stop drinking for any reason six years ago?

I ask because I haven’t had a drink since I was 18 and everyone assumes I had an issue. I did but the issue was only that I was crap at drinking and acted so stupidly when drunk that it was a better option not to drink.

As with anything, there’s nothing at all wrong with a little bit of something. Well unless like me you couldn’t handle a little bit and acted like a lout.

I’ve never had alcohol and people assume exactly the same.

In my case, I had a physically abusive father who liked to knock me about when he was drunk.  I made a very conscious decision to always do the opposite of what he did.

ALCOHOL is never the answer, just takes you down a new dark tunnel.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

No, alcohol was the question. Yes was the answer.

Bottle finished, very enjoyable. Now there’s a bottle of Louis Jadot Beaujolais staring at me.

Mental illness, medication and now don’t give a fuck. I’m quite the opposite to a crap drinker, quite the professional instead. A little like that catchy slogan in the old Pringles advert.

Well, so long as you are happy and in control of your actions it’s not a bad thing. It can do good to let off some steam every now and again. Especially at times like we’ve been through. Only you know if it’s advisable

I don't drink and always get that "he must be half way through the 12 steps" look when it come sup.  the reality is that I've never been able to drink more than a couple of pints/glasses of wine without being copiously vomitous ( every 30 mins for 12-16 hours)  and left with a hangover and splitting head that lasts about 4 days.  Its just not worth the hassle.   Now wife on the other hand, drinks like a fish.

Alcoholism runs in our family. I cry when I think of my youngest brother who has the affliction. If you can avoid it, please do.

Knock it on the head Zep mate , it’s a depressant and you’ll pay for it tomorrow and probably need another drink to lift your mood. You know this stuff already though - I can understand you wanting a blow out in the current climate but the more you have now the less chance you’ve got of a normal day tomorrow

I reckon that wagons were made for occasionally falling off.
Bikes, less so. So don't go there & stay upright  ;)
Be kind to yourself whatever you decide to do :+1:
