    This... seriously. Yes, it's a child's high chair.

    It's fully adjustable for height, seat depth and you can even refit the lower deck as a foot rest if you want. None of my kids need it any more so it's ended up being used for what it was clearly always intended for :).

    I have cussed out this chair so much that if I brought it back in the apartment, my wife would have even less respect for me. Heavy, large, scratches the parquet...
    yes, it would be perfect for the guitar; just don’t tell the wife.

    In fact, are drum stools too high for working at a desk?
    I've just checked and my drum stool is a little higher than my desk chair but it can go about 2-3 inch lower than it's current setting.

    If anyone knows of a good value Herman Miller Aeron for sale, please let me know. I can't find one anywhere that isn't close to full price.

    Wow. Now, that’s a suggestion. Thanks @Gadget ;
    I wonder if the arm rests are removable on all models.

    I don't know. I use a Steelcase Leap as my office / 'studio' chair, which alas has non-removable arms. However, I do like to have the arms other than when I'm playing, so ideally I would find a chair with arms which fold out of the way when required. The arms on my chair don't extend too far forward though, so it's quite possible to play guitar in it if I sit forward a bit.
