Vegan, veggie, paleo aside, IMO as a society we have a broad food problem in that too many of us don't understand enough about what to eat, where it comes from etc. If we did, we wouldn't have the fattest population in Europe and we wouldn't be in the situation where so many kids are obese or overweight. That's a big failing, and making kids fat is not only cruel, it's neglectful.

Seen it. Disgraceful, all of it. I don't accept that it's all the food industry's or govt's fault either. That's a cop out. People should be taking responsibility for what they eat. Not doing so is just lazy and ignorant.

I eat shit food because I hate life, find it stressful, don't believe there is a point to living, god doesn't exist, I'm just a sack of flesh that will turn into worm food when I die, and I like cakes.

I like Japanties. Not the forum Road Warrior. Trumpette until I die. Dog enthusiast with my hubby @Heartfeltdawn. It is prompted by a number of his posts that, in our joint opinion, were inconsistent with the principles that we set out in the forum charter.

Well that's alright then! On the upside though, there is always more cake to eat.

Piss taking aside, I think it's true for most people. It's just they're not really cognizant of it.

If we didn't mass produce certain animals then yeah some would go extinct, but surely that's fine?
The only point of a lot of them is that they're delicious, but I've never liked that the price for that is that something has to be given life for the purpose of being caged/killed. So when I moved out and had to buy my own food I started to think would I raise an animal myself, treat it well but then kill and eat it? And the answer was no. So it seemed hypocritical to buy pre killed stuff and I stopped eating it and didn't really think about it again. The other stuff like milk and eggs I didn't really like anyway so that was easy.

In my world everyone would be made to answer that question, and if the answer is no you get crossed off the animal list. Production is then adjusted to accommodate the new smaller number. It's then made illegal for either side to bitch at the other.
