New Proco Lil' Rat pedal

Proco seemed to have released a mini Rat, my bet is it is a clone of the Mooer Black Secret or the TC Grand Magus I bet they are annoyed that the Grand Magus was released recently before this, but hey ho.

Although I made the joke about the Mooer/TC version, this one doesn't seem to have the different options, this just seems a straight ahead standard rat in a smaller enclosure

Oh cool! Also still fitting a 9v battery in there. I've been putting off getting my first Rat, maybe this will be it.

If it's called the little Rat, why not call it the Ratlet? Or maybe the Mouse? I know rats aren't mice, but it conveys the core idea. 

Oddly, the link shows Andertons haven't priced it yet. I tried asking but haven't heard so much as a squeak yet. This question will gnaw at me all night now. I hope it won't  put too big a ro-dent in my wallet.

It seems to be a bit of a wasted opportunity.

The other clones have various modes and the only thing that sucks about the Black Secret is that you can't read the knobs which is a fault they seem to have replicated.

Don't want to out myself as a sucker but I'll probably buy one of these to replace the rat clone on my mini board despite it likely being exactly the same internally.

I have an old US Rat that is fantastic. When it was having a foot switch repair last year I got a Black Secret as a stand-in. I was disappointed- the filter sweep was all wrong for me. At anything above the lowest gains it was too bright and not possible to dial it out with the filter. It’s a shame because it sounded like there was a good pedal struggling to get out.

I struggle with those little knobs on stage. These look like the shafts of those little pots that go straight on the PCB. The enclosure is cool

I can't move for the things round my way way. You're never more than ten feet away from a Proco Rat.

I bought one of the last NOS component ‘87 whiteface rat reissues a few years ago. Stupidly sold it on eBay, the one pedal I shouldn’t have sold.

There's one in my local shop, might try it next week. I've got the Mooer one which is fine but I'd like to try the Proco one and see how it matches the Mooer and the RAT2 I used to have
