Looks a bit like the EBMM St Shovel...
Problem is - I love them too...
Well, there's a pattern emerging.  What about Glenn Tipton's Hamers (too metal?)

    That's utterly minging.

Got to say that I haven't seen too many guitars much uglier than that. Has he got Ian Elson designing and making them now?

Yup, that’s really ugly. Still not as bad as his BillyBo abominations though.

Here's the Gretsch Custom Shop Reverse Billy Bo.  As cool as absolute fuckery.

Looks like something drawn by a five year old.

  • I’m a huge fan of the Rev, but it does feel a bit like I can’t turn round without falling over 3 things with his name on.

I mean, guess he has earned it but Jesus F. Christ Mr BFG

He's not that different from Joe Bonamassa in that sense, except he gets away with it.

  • I don’t begrudge Joe Bonamassa a penny either to be fair. But being incredibly critical I can’t think of a song by him that’s any where near as ingrained for me as some ZZ Top is.

I don't begrudge either, it's fair enough in today's music business - even pre-pandemic - for artists to generate income however they can, whether that's from T-shirts, or signature guitars, or YouTube channels, or personal video messages (hello Dave Mustaine), or bobbleheads, barstools and keyrings.

But just from a personal perspective I've never felt inclined to buy all that shite just because I like somebody's music.  Except perhaps the T-shirts.

Certainly when it comes to signature guitars, pickups etc, most of the ones I've bought have been associated with artists I'm not really into at all, like Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan and Lee Roy Parnell.  I just liked the specs of the guitars.

  • Wish Billy spent as much time making new music as he did designing this. A 3 minute track would be great.

He released an album like … a month ago. And it’s good.

A more detailed look at this.  Super-cool.  If I had £7.5k to spend on a guitar...

I like the look of it, but I wouldn’t pay that for one, if I could..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
