Asking on behalf of a friend , can anyone recommend a guitar amp repairer in the Nottingham area  ? He was using  Dave Hunter but was told he has now retired .

He has a collection of old amps and wishes to buy more but just put off as if they go wrong he doesnt know anyone that can repair them .

I took an old 70s Twin Reverb to Dave Ball at one point. Been a few years. 0115 9113964

Alternatively, it's a bit of a trek but Rob at pro audio service in Coalville is good too.

I don't know if John Chambers is still working, he was getting on a bit when I used him in 2011. Worth a phone call or email I guess.

Shame. He is a lovely guy and very knowledgable. I suspected he may have done though.

Dave Hunter retired @DJH83004 ;; ?  Not sure that's correct still posting on his Facebook page

Dave Ball is very competent though, but Dave Hunter knew a lot more about guitar amps specifically. . He's moved out to Cotgrave now.

Thanks will tell him to give them a call but he's pretty sure they both have either retired or stop doing repairs.

Sorry for necromancing this old thread. I know that some of the older guys in the East mids are retiring so I'm just letting people know I'm around if they need help. BTW, Dave Hunter at CVA as mentioned above is also a great engineer and a nice guy.

I thought I'd introduce myself as an amp tech - I'm just down the A46 from Nottingham in Farndon, by Newark.

My name is Rowan, company name is Keld Ampworks. Website is www.ampworks.co.uk

I've been doing repairs as my own company since 2012 (ten years this year!) before that I was working for a company further North. Pleased to say I've had lots of happy customers since starting. I do about 200-300 repairs each year so I've always got a very full workshop of work, but I'm also available for urgent work should it be needed.
