My favourite Top song, and a great duet.

    Really sad about this.

That's my favourite too, I've never understood why it's not seen as one of their absolute classics.  And although I'm not a huge ZZ Top or Billy Gibbons fan, the solo is one of my absolute favourite guitar solos, by anybody, I just love the way it's structured.

Coincidentally, I learned this including that solo last week. It’s a master class in minor pentatonic blues-rock soloing as he follows the chord tones so nicely. Had no idea Dusty was that ill.

Dang shame. Truly unique band and all three had an interesting backstory. Sleep well Dusty.

RIP Dusty.  I did wonder if something was wrong when he pulled out of the tour and told his band mates to carry on with a new bass player.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

BG posted on Facebook the other day that Dusty had a hip problem and had been sent home from their US tour. Didn’t sound too likely to me. He’s had hepatitis in the past, wonder if it was related to that?

He’d had health problems on and off for years but that’s unexpected and sad news.
Seeing the Top on the OGWT was an eye opener for me in my teens and later I saw them live three times, always wonderful. Massively successful band if a little under rated by those who failed to see how they brought imagination and humour to the genre.
    Dusty, I thank you…

    Gutted. Absolutely gutted.
Saw him play a warm up gig for Wembley at Wolverhampton Civic hall a few years ago and the bass nearly blew my eardrums out

I'm far from a super fan and it's not the sort of thing I habitually listen to but ZZ have always one of those bands I always had a soft spot for, and unquestionably a great band. Tres Hombres on this morning :)

    RIP Dusty

As usual the Today programme on radio 4 manufactured a completely inappropriate tribute by playing the intro to La Grange, where not only is Dusty not the singer, he's not even playing.

"Tush" is probably Dusty's finest hour but my personal favourite is "I got the Six".
