The time has come to commence a clear out of several guitars that are not getting the playing time they deserve, so am offering them for sale in the hope that they find their way into folks who will enjoy them and give them the playing time they deserve.

First, a few notes. I am not looking for trades at this time, I'm pretty happy with the instruments I have and am unfortunately not currently in the market for new ones. I will not entertain low ball offers, if the instruments do not sell then I am more than happy to keep them. I am willing to post, at cost, or meet locally if distance permits.

So first up;

Duesenberg Paloma

The Paloma is Duesenberg take on a more S style guitar but with the typical Duesenberg stylistic twists. What you have is a maple neck with a 12” radius rosewood board topped with medium jumbo frets and the Duesenberg three a side headstock glued into an offset alder body finished with a Narvik Blue top and black back. Pickup layout is HSS, with the Duesenberg Grand Vintage in the bridge, and Pearlito and Alnico Blade single coils controlled via a rotary four way switch and master volume & tone controls.

The rotary four-way switch has a “handle”, so none of the PRS rotary nightmare when on stage (stages, remember those?!) where you have no grip and therefore changing pickups is not easy. Nope, it’s dead easy here. Also there is no ‘0 to 10’ know to confuse the selections. The only thing you have to remember is that the switch offers four tonal options which if I recall correctly is neck, neck and bridge humbucker coil, neck and middle and bridge in humbucker mode. The humbucker provides PAF style tones, the single coils options cover your Jimi and Knopfler options.

Wobblage is available via the excellent Diamond Deluxe Tremola which is a nice way of saying ‘well sorted Bigsby’. Thanks to an anchor bar, changing strings is not an anxiety inducing affair akin to trying to administer a pill to a cat. This trem is super smooth with a good amount of range. You can easily find yourself going from gentle wobble to Beck style trem bar tricks. It is that responsive. Guitar comes with the stunning Duesenberg case and all the case candy.

I acquired the guitar new from Music Street two years ago and when not being played has been kept in its case, as a result the guitar is in excellent condition, with no dents or cracks and no fretware. £1450 £1400 £1375

Patrick Eggle Macon DC

Mahogany body and neck. The body features a quilted walnut top with an ebony insert between the pickups. The fingerboard is ebony topped with 22 frets which feel like 6105’s under the fingers. Pickups are by Mojo, a high output tappable humbucker in the bridge and a P90 I the neck. The guitar features Mojo pickups, the bridge is a high output humbucker, around 16k on a meter and features a coil tap on the tone control. The neck pickup is a humbucker sized P90.

The neck is clubby, without feeling huge and the softened shoulders make it super comfortable in the hand. Guitar comes in a white and black hard case.

Inspecting the guitar I can see one very small impression on the back edge of the guitar, it is not very noticeable and something you would have to go searching for to find, I have however tried to photograph it.

Lovely guitar, but as my preference is for Strat style guitars this is not getting the attention it deserves and as a result needs to find a home that give it the playing time it deserves. I bought this guitar from World Guitars a few years ago and when not in use has been stored in its case. The reality is that the guitar is simply not getting the use something this exquisite deserves and therefore, it is time for it to find a home that will hopefully see it get some play time.

Weight is nice and light at around 7Ibs. £2200 £2100 £2000

    PRS DGT 2009 Tobacco Burst – 10 top - £2150  £2100 SOLD

Mahogany body and neck, rosewood board with outline birds, with striped flame 10 top. Guitar is totally stock and was for a few years my main guitar, but in recent years it has fallen out of favour and become something of a case queen.

Frets are in good condition, no obvious sign of fret wear. The guitar does have a few dings which I have tried to photograph.

The guitar has two PRS DGT humbuckers and a coil tap that actually provides some useful sounds. The DGT has what I would describe as a warm PAF influenced sound, Grissom was apparently trying to capture the tone of the pickups in a 335 that he owns when working on dialling these in. The neck is based on a regular profile from one of his early Standard 24’s and has 6100 frets, which actually means 11-gauge strings feel more like 10’s.

I have owned this guitar since new, having purchased it from Peach Guitars and was at one point one of five DGT’s I owned at the same time, this is the one that survived as it was to my sonic tastes at least, the best sounding one. Guitar will have the frets cleaned up before leaving my possession and new strings fitted. I have to be honest this may be one I regret moving on but having spent a lot of time in it’s case the last five years, maybe that in itself is a message that it is time for it to find a new home. Comes with PRS hardcase plus case candy, back plate will be included (it is in the case).

    SOLD

Ibanez RG2620 CBL (Cubed Blue) Prestige – Made In Japan

Typical RG fare, basswood body with twin humbuckers, 5-way switch (auto tap on position 2 & 4), 5 piece Wizard maple and walnut neck with a rosewood board adorned with 24 6100 sized frets, Edge Pro trem and finished in ‘Cubed Blue’ which sees elements of the finish sit slightly proud of the body. Anyway, body is in good condition, no dents, chips or cracks. The action is low (maybe a hair too low, but easily sorted).

I acquired this guitar second hand a few years ago to see if I could get back into playing a shred style guitar, but to be honest I’ve long moved on from the thin wizard profile necks which is why this guitar has spent long periods sat in its Ibanez branded hardshell case.

I have changed the pickups out for DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquid Fire set, which provide a nice tight bass response and whilst the midrange is noticeable, it does not dominate the tone and no, I do not have the original pickups.

    £550 ono £500

I will add a few other guitars and a couple of amps (in the relevant section) during the course of the next week.
