(AxeFX/Kemper) How do I get early Whitesnake Marshall tone? (Marsden/Moody era - not Sykes)

What is going on with that studio guitar tone they were getting? I can get a ballpark tone using LP and Plexi Marshall models and early Marshall 4x12 IRs .... but there's a 'ring and warble/shimmer' effect on their studio tones too ... almost like out of phase cocked wah flavour but not.

Sorry, I don't own an AxeFX or Kemper. What I would say is that that era of the band seemed to have two humbucker guitars, keyboard (typically hammond) and a pokey, mid-focused bass guitar in the mix a lot of the time.

My guess is that you might be hearing some sort of eq at the desk to take out some low/mid or even slightly boost the upper frequencies to enable the guitars to sit in their own sonic space next to all that other stuff.

Either that or maybe a Fender/other-single-coil guitar used during tracking to give a better spread of sound?
