I've picked up 10k recently working as a body double for Jason Statham in his new movie. Its about a dead fit bloke who becomes addicted to pies and beer.

Prolific finally got back to me and confirmed i had failed the ID validation on my drivers license.  They reset the link and it worked second time

In theory, I just did £20 worth of surveys on my lunch.   Lets see if they all pay out

  • I've been a 'Prolific' user for about 2 years, I withdrew £150 last xmas, I currently have almost £75 in my account, but I have had more success with matched betting so had a few months off Prolific (Had a few months off the other tbf)  I have withdrawn £390 in total from prolific. In my experience all the other survey sites are a waste of time.
Just like the matched betting thing, I am not posting links etc. I have nothing to gain by trying to help.
Prolific studies revolve around the uni calendar, so it's quiet during the holidays.
My personal best was £7.50 for the most enjoyable 20 minute survey late at night during the first lockdown.

  • I've been on Prolific for about a week and just cashed out £21 with £6 still to come at some point (just took it out to make sure it all worked ok). Seems ok so far, and like @jfingers says, it will probably pick up again soon when the Uni's are all back

I've now done 30+ surveys and all but the one I mentioned earlier have paid out.

The "attention check" questions are quite common but even if you're only skim reading the questions you'll spot them.

I did a bit of matched betting on Profit Accumulator, the free trial will earn you an easy £50 and you can decide if you like it. I earned a few hundred in a few weeks but I got offered overtime at work and that paid more so I stopped. I have thought about starting again since the overtime ran out!
I did this fairly seriously for a few months a couple of years ago and made a couple of grand.  I'd start up again but I've lost track of where I've had accounts blocked.
I'd never heard of PA before this thread and thanks to you guys I've just earned £75 in my first week for about 4 hours work. Most of that was figuring out how it works.

Just a quick note to the uninitiated who may want to try it. I had to have over £350 tied up in bets at one point which was a bit scary. I'm 100% confident that it was safe though. It could be done with less but would be slower.

The more you're prepared to bankroll the faster you can make it.

I'm sure I could have made 10 times that this week but would probably have had to tie up a couple of grand on bets.

I know it doesn't last forever once the initial sign up bonuses are used up but like RedRabbit I reckon I can make a couple of grand fairly easily over the next couple of months.

What kind of offers are there matched betting these days? I stopped a few years ago as it all seemed to drop off a cliff and wasn't really worth my time for the reward, but haven't checked in a while.

Before I started I sat down with pen and paper and made sure the maths worked and that I was happy with it.  Biggest mistake I made was not setting up a separate bank account and email address straight away.  Once I'd got everything going through it's own account it was much easier to keep track of.  I made a fairly involved spreadsheet tracking winnings and matching it against what was in the bank and what was held at various sites.  I can't really remember now but I think my £2k profit is probably fairly conservative and I was only at it for about 4 months.

It is possible to keep going with it after the initial sign up offers have run dry but it makes it harder work.  Not sure it's the same now but there were always decent offers on accumulators, various races etc.  Bet365 were always really good at handing out offers once you'd built up a decent history with them.  That's the one account I made sure I didn't take the piss on even if it meant taking a worse profit on a more popular game/race.  And that's all before you get into casino offers as well (I never really bothered with them as the ones worth doing weren't risk free).

I only gave up as I went away for a couple of weeks, got out of the habit and eventually lost track of who I'd been gubbed with etc.  Thankfully, due to my diligent tracking I knew exactly who'd got my money and how much.

I had a really fun one yesterday  which was chatting to an AI for 10 conversations. Pay out should be £11.30 when it comes.

We discussed population control and Asimov's 3 laws of robotics, so there is a chance I helped create Skynet.

Cheers all for the ideas. I've spent £32 on pizza so I'll look over everything properly when it arrives..
I'm off to a bad start.. but they say you gotta spend money to make money..

    Fuck me!! £32 for pizza?.

Start your own pizza company .
To be fair I did order two, 4 dips a couple of cokes and some dough balls lol.
=) I’ve just spend £17 on three 10” pizzas for 3 adults and 3 kids. Admittedly we were just snacking but there was spare.

I’ve saved my money by never spending £32 on pizza, ever!

Not sure how often you’d spend that but it won’t be good for the wallet or waistline. Even if you can’t find a way to make extra cash - you might be able to make savings.
I buy my pizza’s  from Iceland for £1  I don’t buy them very often now though as they are immensely fattening

I've done 3 so far on prolific today, about 40 minutes in total, how long typically does it take to get reviewed and paid out?

most I have done seem to take a day or two.  Some are instant, some of the higher value ones seem to take longer

I'm just checking in every so often and doing a few here and there when i'm not really doing anything else.  Quite often there are none to do though.  It's adding up.

I did get a £40 one appear the other day, but it involved doing multiple zoom interviews so i passed

I should say, that's for payment to be confirmed in your prolific account. You then have to chose to cash out to paypal once you have more than a fiver.  This only happens on Tuesday or Thursday

Nice work on the prolific gents. Is it this one?

    https://prolific.co/

I’m very weary about revealing too much personal info online but if it’s a legitimate outfit and working for others I might dive in.

Also another vote for matched betting with PA, it’s good for a couple of £k short term, but long term the offers get more complex, the bookies suspend you from offers (gub you) and it all seems too much effort in the end if you have work and other commitments.

    That's the one.

Obviously you should always be concerned about sharing data online.  These are mostly academic studies and will give you very clear information on how you data is used, with the right to withdraw  at any point if you decide you don't want your answers used.   Most ask for age, gender and nationality.

You can report any that you feel are not kosher

Prolific ask a lot of questions, some quite personal.  You can chose not to answer those.  Some say leave them blank so you get a wider range of studies, others say its better to fill them all in so the studies you do get are relevant and you have less chance of your responses being rejected.

Cheers Wez. It’s was more around sharing driving licence details etc for ID that I’m not so keen on. Age, gender, nationality etc I’m not too fussed about. Thank you.
