I've heard this song 100000 times, but never truly realised how full on the Drums are until actually seeing someone play it.

Ian Paice must have been a bit of a Monster.

Paice is my favourite drummer of all time, and I really think a better candidate for 'greatest rock drummer' than most of the usual nominations. He combines immense technical ability with a fantastic groove and musical awareness - utterly brilliant, and that song more than most really shows why.

That an 11-year-old child can play it accurately is absolutely staggering.

You use the rebound inherent in the skin.
It isnt that difficult but there was no way 11 year old me could do it.

The impressive thing is how on time she is.
Most intermediate drummers drift.
She really doesn't.

Despite the evidence of my own eyes, it never feels for a moment like it's a young kid playing.  I know nothing about drumming, but it seems absolutely spot on to me.

Just gone back to the original. It's a shame Paice's performance is rather buried in a weedy production very much of its era.

Speaking as a drummer, that girl has got a great set of wrists and great time. I find it interesting how most of these child musical prodigies all seem to be Japanese. Must be something in the water over there. In any event, she has a promising career ahead of her.

I think he's great, I'd still pick Bonham but that's just preference in how they play. Paice is my favourite of the "busy" drummers, and as you say has tremendous groove.

That girl is amazing, what a performance.
