VSTs and Kontact

Quick question, I am quite new to the home recording lark and want to invest in a few vsts - primarily drum and bass libraries. 

Was about to buy a bass vst but then noticed that it said the following 

Please note that the free Kontakt Player offers support in Demo Mode ONLY.

Does this mean that there would be no point in buying the library as I couldn't use it properly? I don't plan on shelling out for Kontact pro.

My understanding is that a sample library developer has to pay some sort of licence fee to enable their library to be used in the free Kontakt Player, so many don't and you therefore have to have the full Kontakt application to use it.

Ah ok. Well, no point shelling out for a plugin if I can't use it. More expensive submission audio plugins it is.
