Gig start times - wish they were all the same time!

I've done a lot of gigs recently where the promoter has sent a rep. His / her job is to sit between the band and venue in terms of sorting out riders, load in, SC times and set length etc. I didn't even know this was a thing until I asked one guy who was hanging with us in the dressing room what his job was  
It's kind of handy sometimes but the cost to the the promoter is passed on to us and at £200 a pop not that cheap. Some venues insist on it though apparently.

Promoter reps are pretty standard for bigger promoters, especially ones that cover multiple venues or cities. I don't recall the cost ever being listed on contracts or paperwork though.
