I just spotted this on Instagram.
https://www.fender.com/ja-JP/electric-guitars/jazzmaster/made-in-japan-traditional-60s-jazzmaster-hh-limited-run-wide-range-cunife-humbucking/5501500300.html

Google translate says,
Made in Japan Traditional series derived by combining the aesthetics of Fender's traditional musical instrument production with the sophisticated craftsmanship of Japan. Fender's orthodox DNA is revived with reliable Made in Japan quality.

Made in Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmaster® HH Limited Run Wide-Range CuNiFe Humbucking, which is limited to the official shop, is equipped with a Wide-Range CuNiFe humbucker that uses a CuNiFe rod magnet to output a rich and bell-like humbucker tone. It is a special model.

Like the popular Made in Japan Traditional series, it features a gloss finish basswood body, vintage-style 21 frets, and a 9.5-inch radius "U" -shaped neck. The rosewood fretboard has a block inlay, which is one of the features of this limited edition model, and is combined with the neck binding to create a unique atmosphere. A 6-saddle vintage-style bridge with a floating tremolo tailpiece provides classical playability.

Comes with a hard shell case. Limited quantity, sold only at Fender Online Shop and FENDER SHOP in MIKI GAKKI AMERICAMURA.

Approx £1100. Looks pretty cool but maybe it's a Japan only release.

This is causing a bit of hysteria over on the offset forum. A factory spec jazzblaster with real deal cunife wide range pickups. Who would have thought that a few years ago.

Should really be a standard model, fender would sell loads.

Yes please. But I want D&B and nitro and 6105s and not sunburst. Please?

and more important, I want an AO-style 70s Thinline Tele with Cunife WRHBs. But at least this suggests they haven’t given up on those pickups

Amazed they’ve not done a thinline tele with two wrhbs. I’d have bought one

Yep. Keeping fingers crossed for one in a good colour, preferably without a mother-of-toilet-seat pick guard!

Looks good but never known the Japanese Fenders not to have some slightly odd spec twist, like a basswood body or a very thin 41mm nut width, there’s always something that stops me.

I love those pickguards. Naugashell, on the other hand (faux tortoise), means instant replacement for me.

I’d love a WRHB Jazzmaster but the sunburst and block inlays do nothing for me on this.

Love it but would love it more with Ash or alder body and hard tail. Sunburst and block inlays fine by me.
    Don't touch that dial.

Not mad on the sunburst either tbh. It's the bog standard finish. Natural would've been much better.

I really like the Sunburst finish, but would prefer alder or ash body.

@stonevibe I think basswood can be a really good option. I would love to have a go on one of these. Just a shame they're not doing them in the UK. And I agree with @Loobs a natural Baja style jazzmaster with those pickups would be very very tempting

I love basswood, just it has a very boring grain pattern and so with a Sunburst finish it can be a bit underwhelming. I owned a lot of late '80s and early '90s Japanese Fenders and they all used it. Just my old Jazzmaster and Strat, looked a little dull with basswood under the Sunburst, so just an aesthetic thing.
