I have decided to (try to) sell my beloved EKO Ranger VI. I think this is a late 60s/early 70s model but correct me if I'm wrong.

My Dad gave me this guitar when I was starting out about 20 years back. Turns out his friend had found it on a skip in a house clearance and gave it to him and it ended up in my incapable hands.

Pickguard - MIA. My Dad tried to tidy it up before giving me the guitar and damaged it in the process. He's since lost it and so in my ownership it's never had a pickguard.

Pickup - it had a large sound hole mounted pickup that got in the way of playing and sounded like crap to my memory, so I removed it ages ago, hence the vacant volume, tone and jack holes. I still have it though and I'll include it in case anyone wants to have a go at re-installing it.

Heel strap button - MIA. It did have one and it fell out at some point without me noticing and hence it was lost. I never really play out with an acoustic so it was never something that bothered me.

Playability - overall it's pretty good considering it's age and cosmetic condition. The tuning stability is good and I often put it in open tunings. The intonation and action are fine strung with .12s. Frets and fretboard show signs of wear but no apparent issues affecting playability. The adjustable bridge saddle appears a bit worn but it's not given me any problems either.

It's probably the kind of guitar that might appeal to someone who's just starting out, as a project (god knows it could do with a bit of TLC), or someone who doesn't play acoustic much and just wants one around for the odd thing (like me). I found that despite being overbuilt and appearing to have enough lacquer to survive a nuclear blast, it sounds really nice. Not the loudest acoustic by any stretch but nice and records surprisingly well. I often used it to record rhythm backing on tracks and it sat in the mix really well.

The Gator hardcase is a good dreadnought case. It was bought to take the guitar on holiday once and has probably only been used a handful of times.

I'm open to the idea of shipping this but I guess the postage will cost half as much as the guitar! I'm based in Gateshead for collection.

If you really want just the case or guitar, let me know and I'll consider separating the two.
