He's probably gone a bit OTT given the modern digital stuff available I guess.

He has a great console, loads of incredible gear but it is really down to his ears and his aesthetic.
I do think he has a magical beard.

It isn't hearing, it is process and taste.
David Torn had a brain tumour and only has hearing in one of his ears.
He still produces incredible music.

I guess with knowledge and experience it might be possible for a deaf person to get a reasonable mix with just meters and eq to some degree.

Yes every rack has a Furman or ART distribution box so I can use C14/C15 leads rather than kettle leads.
The amount of power conditioning is pretty minimal though.
We don't really need it in this country.
