I use a Signature 22MTK as my main home studio mixer. Great live too.. capture everyone to multitrack.  Just nice to have faders. USB return on every channel means you can mix old school style, manually.

Very very nice piece of kit.   

The more self contained recorder features in the newer Tascam Model 12 would get my attention now too.

If latency with VSTs is the thing.. a fast dedicated interface might be best though. The desk is because we are often recording a five piece live and I have several synths plugged in all the time.

It's a bit different, but Zoom (the old one) have a 16 track multitrack recorder with touchscreen announced. No ETA yet. Looks interesting, though I may look into Akai Force instead.

I was so impressed with the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 on my PC I ordered a Solo to connect to the Mac Mini (I'm lazy and can't be arsed to swap cables)

Now I have an old RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface I card and breakout box to sell...
