    Those are all normal Glaswegian greetings between friends and family.

    Speaking as an ex-pat Weegee, I can assure you it's actually pretty accurate.

    Me and my brothers regularly used to refer to each other - face to face, mind, not behind anyone's back - as (and I'm not making this up) such things as 'cuntlugs', 'fanny baws', 'fud face' and more.

    As such terms could now be termed misogynistic, and we have (sort of) grown up a bit since, we no longer use any of these terms, but the respectable veneer that has replaced them is really pretty damn thin.
    If you must have sex with a frog, wear a condom. If you want the frog to have fun, rib it.

    I think if you all focused on being more friendly, this could be a great forum. Maybe even develop some sorely missing industry contacts, and maybe have ... I dunno, an Andertons sponsorship or something. They could have banners all over the place, and we could get some minor discounts, and all it would take is for you lot to be a bit nicer.

    What about all the snide, passive-agressive, golf clap stuff? For example the horse de-wormer thread is full of it.

    I think sometimes that kind of stuff is nastier than the sweary stuff.

    Yeah, I know. It's very difficult, though - how do you define it in terms that don't allow a defence of, "It's just sarcasm" etc?
