Microphone stands

What's Hot
Wasn't sure where to put this...

I need to buy a couple of mic stands for general gig use. They're for the backing vocalists so don't want to spend a fortune but also want something fit for purpose.  Any recommendation for cheapish but will do the job stands?

Looking at reviews on amazon, everything I look at there are people saying it's brill and others saying it's awful and avoid at all costs.

Cheap and imo decent are the studiospares stands.
Better and a bit more cost look at gravity and k&m (not the basic 25400, go for the 210xx range and they’ll last forever)

The Pulse ones from CPC are good value .... order code ST01599. We have about 15 of them and have used them for ten years

Get them all headsets so they can do 5Star dance routines.

    It is the way.

Hercules for decent quality and not stupid money.

K&M a bit more pricey but will last a long time.

Cheap stands are, in my experience, a false economy. It won’t be long before the clamps etc start giving up and the mic won’t stay where you want it.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Studiospares were my go-to cheapies but the newer versions aren't a patch on the old ones.

K&M/Beyerdynamic are absolutely worth paying a little more for. Will last a lifetime if looked after.

Thanks @Danny1969 took me a while to get round to ordering them but I've just had 2 of these delivered.

You're right, quality stands for not much money.  So much better than the junk I've bought from amazon in the past.
