Ah, so that was you Your Patreon account is registered using a private Apple email address, so it couldn't be linked to your forum account. I'll sort that shortly...

I've just subscribed and, instantly, the ads have dissappeared and I'm able to post images directly.

(picture of next door's cat asleep in my home studio by way of test)

I thought the rules were that it shouldn't work first time of asking and that I'm supposed to spent 20 minutes on hold waiting for the help line to answer before being told that it was somehow all my fault.

No, we don't have the storage or the processing for that I'm afraid. Just upload to YouTube, and optionally set it to private if you don't want people to find it accidentally.

That's already happened - you've got the Subscriber role, so you shouldn't be seeing any ads and you'll be able to upload images
