Ooh, thank you! What was the problem?
@TTony was actually pretty close - the back-end adapter I wrote had a typo in the amount variable's possible values, which meant it was looking for £35 instead of £3.50, so it couldn't figure out what you'd signed up for.

I mean, I obviously think that'd still be worth it, but...y'know...

Good job you spotted it,  @digitalscream - I'm too passive aggressive to complain, but I'd definitely have wanted to get my money's worth out of the image hosting and would probably have turned the site into Instagram.

Do I have to pay for each of my accounts or just the main one?

I’m not sure I want to subscribe as the ads don’t bother me and I’m happy enough doing the Imgur dance to upload pics. However, I don’t want to be that guy and not bung some money in the coffers once in a while to keep the place running, cos, well, I love it here and frankly I’d be lost without it. So is that still going to be an option? If so can you post the forum PayPal address again (and possibly even make it a sticky so we don’t have to keep asking?).

I've decided that I'm not going to be doing any donation drives from now on, because (obviously) it's ridiculous asking for money when we have ads and subscriptions going on.

However, occasionally folk want to do giveaways etc, and maybe do want to just chuck money in as and when, so...yeah. I'll see if I can put it somewhere unobtrusive-but-findable.

PayPal address is admin@thefretboard.co.uk, by the way :)

OK - cool move and a chance to move the forum forward a bit .

If the adverts disappear for paid subscribers will they still seethe banner advert that has highlighted a forum offer - like Jason  has and Thorpy , myself and Trent have ?

I've signed up obviously - value this place!

I can still see the ad for the Guitar Show on the full site.  It's just the sponsored ones that have gone.

Yes - the only ads that disappear are the money-making ones. The site banner is a service to the community - it only ever involves PSAs or deals from within the community itself (ie tFB Traders), and as you know the forum gets no direct benefit from it, so it stays.

As somebody who is not a fan of subscription services, monthly ones that is, is it possible to do something like yearly or even life time memberships.  When I take out mobile phone contracts, or renew them for example, I pay the entire contract off up front so that I don't have a monthly bill to think about, for my peace of mind, I do the same with my ISP and mobile broadband provider, it's one less thing for me to think about, or budget for on a monthly basis.  I'd happily sign up for a 1year membership, but not monthly, I keep very very little if any cash in a bank account that I can set up with a subscription service.

Just to clarify, I'm not asking for anything like 12 months of membership for the price or 10 or 11 months of membership, but rather the option to be billed once a year if not less, and for renewal to be a selection between automatic or manual.
