2n5458 Transistors types in a Mkii Liquid Sunshine

I have an original LS mkii and a clone I got from the forum. However, the clone has noticeaby less low end (irrespective of bass boost) and sounds harsher overall. Opening them up I see the same type of transistor but different sub types perhaps? BC21 (clone) vs BC30 (original) Could just the transistors make sucha big difference or should I be checking component values? I'd like to get the clone sounding good.

I don't believe the transistors would make such a difference, unless their knock-offs, and out-of-spec.

More likely to be either circuit differences, or component value differences, IMO.
