In their defence, I don't like letting complete strangers into my house either. 99% of what I sold has been at a "neutral venue".

Looking at his other gumtree adverts - he does all his transactions opposite Byron's Burgers at the Arc shopping centre.

Cash only as well... so I guess there's no recourse in the event of any issues?

After I sold my Yaris I had a spare set of bulbs i needed to get rid of so listed it on some local market place and met the guy outside the co-op and he paid me a tenner in cash lol

Yup. The whole point of Gumtree used to be that you didn't post items, it was collection/meet up only. People being people it's gone the way of everything else now, and it's all "can you post to Outer Mongolia?"

"Observer" - as in sniper team.  He will have the same, nothing personal just business

I sold an SG to someone once at my flat in London and he sat there playing it for 1 hour. He did buy it but my god did he outstay his welcome. Fucking psychopath

I bought a 335 off ebay nearly 20 years ago. 

I met the guy in a car park behind MacDonald's in Stockport at 8am on a Sunday morning.  He gave me a guitar and I gave him £1200 in used tenners. 

Can't believe how naïve I was! Having said that, he did have hundreds of positive feedback and arrived in a very posh merc. If he was a scam artist he was doing very well for himself.

Eeeek, when I went to collect my PRS last summer in Liverpool.  I went inside, plugged in, played 2 chords to make sure it worked.  We chatted about weather and what guitar he is getting next and then paid and left.
