Any Gibson experts?

Can any Gibson experts among you tell me if Gibson have, at  any point (Norlin era, 80s, 90s etc) ever used poly finishes on their guitars, or has it always been nitro?

Even in the 70s - google turned up some (very possiby incorrect) claims at mylespaul.com etc claiming that some norlin era ones were poly?

In the late '90s there was a short-lived model called The Paul SL ("Sans Lacquer") which had some kind of UV-cured finish, a bit like the SmartWood Les Pauls but glossy.  I only know because I had one.

The metallic custom colour finishes on 60s Firebirds was indeed termed "poly" but that was shorthand for polychromatic, not polyurethane or polyester.

Some of these finishes were, like some Fender custom colours, an acrylic formulation but had a nitrocellulose top coat of clear lacquer.
