Wet gig last Sat - you kind of assume the last w`end in Aug will be ok for outside - `maybe it is, and maybe it isn`t`

Still, always fun - and I`m finally learning where where to fit in in this band - not 100% there yet - but it`s getting there!

Boss Me90 straight to PA and my old Highway One strat if you`re interested. And benefits of silent stage is I can just listen to FOH mix.

Last weekend’s jaunt with the ceilidh band. I’m hidden behind a curtain and only my guitar neck and left hand are visible for moments.

Not live, but done in the practice room.

New band, line up only completed less than a month ago.  We haven't got a complete set list yet but we need to start looking for gigs now.  The singer made a few calls to venues but quickly found out that we needed something to show.  One week later and I'd come up with some 30 second arrangements of songs that we'd learned.  I planned to record just the drums in the practice room (3 hour session, 4 mics on the kit into XR-18 mixer) but ended up recording everything bar my guitars which I recorded at home to save time.  Following week shot the video in the same room (3 hour session again) using an SLR and an iPhone.  Edited together in a couple of hours.

  • Last Saturday, heavy hangover, had to pick up the 330 from Feline guitars, then back home and wrote this on it.
Wednesday evening with the band after a couple of attempts, still rough and I'm playing too many wrong notes/chords...nothing new there then =)

I don’t know if this belongs here or in Plug my stuff. It’s in a studio playing mostly live. One initial take all together then Pete redid his vocals as an overdub and I played guitar over the track again. Mostly for the video but that’s the guitar take you hear. Still a bit of polishing to do on the mix but it’s mostly there. The song is one of Pete’s from the early 80’s but it fits our new wave covers band “The Airstreams” very well. We’re gradually adding in more original songs.

That's a pretty cool song and performance

Sitting in with a friend of mine's band, Georgie Hume & The Pity Party, before Christmas.

Many steel  players have done versions of Harbour Lights, and this was one of the songs Elvis recorded at his first Sun Records sessions.

I will be putting up more videos from this gig on my YouTube channel.
