Probably been done to death, but I know the DD200 has been out for a while now and lots of folks have had a chance to test it out properly.
I'm looking to change up my board and considering replacing my main delay (ehx xo deluxe memory man) with something more flexible. DD200 caught my eye as I have the rv500 and eq200 which are stellar. While I love the tone of the MM, I was hoping the Boss unit might get close to that organic sound. Am I way off and expecting too much from a digital pedal? Or would I really even notice the difference live?

They sound the same though and if you just want to use a few basic patches which you won't change much then its a good option. I don't think you'll miss MM personally as the Boss units are really really good.
A lot of the subtlety of delay goes out the window in a mix anyway so, unless you're using a specific sound in a specific way for example as a part of a song, it will do what you need. Although, if you really like the old pedal, get a used one first and try it out before selling something that might be hard to replace.
I might make myself unpopular by suggesting the Line6 M5 as an alternative. They are dead cheap now. I just got one to act as a multi modulation pedal but I'm quite blown away by the quality of the delays and reverbs. It's all the algorithms from the 4 series but you can only use one effect at a time. It has 24 presets and Midi
It's a worthy recommendation any time the question is anything to do with flexibility, the ability to store presets, or value for money.
Even if you only use one class of the effects it does (delay/reverb/modulation/synths/drives) it's still a bargain, and if you can access the MIDI functions, or better yet find a way to move it around the signal chain (Boss ES-5/8 for instance) so that you can use *all* the effects, it's an incredible bit of kit.
Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
I too have had both and preferred the DD500. For some reason the "mix" level on the 200 seemed a lot "hotter" - I generally had to run the mix level a lot lower on the 200.
It's still a good choice though.
I've got a lot of delays and the DD-200 is one of the best. I particularly like the analog delay sound on it.
Go to 19 minutes - or use the chapter markers for my analog delay comparison
Or versus the Meris LVX (believe it or not stands up well)
