I remember a brand from over 50 yrs ago called CSL and I remember playing a light metallic blue CSL Thinline Tele at the Arcade Music Shop in North Finchley around 1972/73 that was very nice but it was about £85 with no case and I couldn't afford it.
Bandmate of mine had a CSL 1275-alike in the '70s.  It weighed as much as a small planet but was actually a pretty well-made thing as I recall.  I used to have a photo of me playing it at a rehearsal - must try and dig it out :-)

I believe Pino Palladino used to play an Ibanez 1275 copy in early bands, before he became a bass player.

Georgia has been using Westones at least since we played with them in 2019. Sounded good out front - I believe they're with Marshall for amps (and record label) at moment.

CSL was from a distributor called Summerfield  - In the 70s and 80s they distributed Ibanez and Tama as their 2 main product lines

In the 70s, like many distributors of the day they created CSL as their own brand name, to add to their catalogue - Similar to Arbiter, Antoria, CMI, Kimbara etc - Most would be out of the same factory and most followed what we now call the ‘pre-law suit’ models

Maurice Summerfield, the owner/md was a wonderful guitar player- More jazz and classical

CSL was Charles Summerfield LTD - the father of Maurice - At the time CSL were a major toy importer/distributor - But when he joined the family business, Maurice added guitars to the business- Some may recall CSL Macafferi style Gypsy Jazz Guitars

Indie Guitars, I have two. Those that know, know.
I had two, still have one of them somewhere. Had a Les Paul shaped electric with a grey union jack on the front, which I bought mainly for the looks before I could play at all. It was a good guitar but not really 'me' so sold it. I bought an acoustic, off the back of thinking the electric was a good guitar. It was a pile of crap and I couldn't give it away so it's in my loft now (I think), probably fit only for the tip.

Amazing how many come from a similar story - CMI - Cleartone Music Instruments - Jedson - can't recall the story on this but think it was to do with J E Dallas & sons (Son of JED) - JE Dallas was a big importer in our trade in the 19th century up to around the 60/70's - Then Arbiter had a role in the business prior to morphing to Dallas-Arbiter, then just Arbiter - WEM - Watkins Electronic Music - Park amps was the maiden name of a director of Park amps, who was the owner of JC Crossland in Birmingham - I'll think of more later

Wasn't Park the maiden name of Jim Marshall's wife?

(For those who are unaware, Park amps were built by Marshall - hopefully, somebody with a better memory will be able to explain the existence of two separate brands).

    Edit - From Wikipedia -

    "Park amplification

The new contract had disenfranchised several of Marshall's former distributors, among them his old friend Johnny Jones. Marshall's contract did not prevent him from building amplifiers outside the company, and so Marshall launched the Park brand name, inspired by the maiden name of Jones's wife. To comply with his contract stipulations, these amplifiers had minor circuit changes compared to the regular Marshalls, and minor changes to the appearance. For instance, often the Parks had silver or black front panels instead of the Marshall's gold ones, some of the enclosures were taller or shaped differently, and controls were laid out and labelled differently."

None, there are many many reasons why these brands are either no longer around, or have had their branding bought by 3rd parties and cheapened.

Heartfield! Totally forgot about those. There was an old video of Buckethead in the 80s/90s where he’s playing a navy blue Heartfield Talon and I’ve always wanted one just like it.

Heartfield always remind me of Starfield.  I've never been sure if they were connected, but they were in production at about the same time, I think Starfield were owned by Ibanez and some of the Heartfield models were a lot like Ibanez RGs.

    Fernandes Guitars.

Although if FMIC are savvy they will buy up the rights to the Sustainer system, develop it further and then keep the EOB Strat going, perhaps add an Edge Signature Strat, or do a range of Charvels with the Sustainer installed.
