  • I enjoy a good pen. I have a Bigi Design Ti Arto and a Stilform Arc. Both are excellent.

And +1 to Fujifilm. Just lovely bits of kit

not sure if it counts, but I have a really old leather jacket. It's a bit worn now, a bit creased and creaky. I think I bought it early to mid 90's. It's nothing special in and of itself, but it was probably the 1st item of clothing I ever bought that Mrs F approved of (she had to cure me of my need to wear "nerd" tee shirts etc).

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

  • I really like Boss pedals. Leaving the sound aside (although I think they mostly sound great), I just think they’re a nice piece of design, and very tactile.
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

Fat face clothes, seem to look and feel better the longer you have them.  Same goes for sebago boat shoes.

A pair of slippers. If you have not got a pair of slippers on right now, just imagine the comfort, ease of taking off and putting on around the house. Duvets for the feet and cheap as chips. They are also good weaponry against household insects,  make good bottom spankers and can improve mental health and guitar dexterity just by wearing them.

    Dont worry, be silly.

Is that a small piece of bone or ivory that’s been carved and hangs on a belt in Japanese culture ? Or is it used to close a pouch  I seem to recall them

That’s them. They were made help to hold kimono sashes closed.

    Amazing little things.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Fujifilm cameras. Actually, cameras & lenses in general; but I'm particularly a fan of the feel of my Fujis 3
Hehe yes… but Old manual lenses.  Nikon FM2 with the 50/1.4 and a metal lens hood.

the Olympus OM2 is nice too but not as nice to hold in the hand because of ergonomics although it is weighty and feels solid.

i also have this ball head for a tripod with what must be the smoothest rotation, so smooth that I find myself just turn it for fun, there is just the right amount of resistance to it.  I even took it to work and show people and they all want to turn it too…it sounds like a plot to a porno but i am talking about a ball head lol

The old fountain pens, the good ones. The sensation of ink on paper through a smooth-edged gold nib was a pleasure. The writing looked great, too.
Unless you're left handed in which case it's an unreadable smudged mess.

I hated fountain pens in school.

Dammit. I've put off buying slippers for so long, y'know because I'm young, yes YOUNG!  But as the years have passed (even though I'm still young) my feet seem to get colder about 9pm. Right now they're like blocks of ice, even though the house is 20deg.

But what slippers should I buy that will last, keep my feet warm, and not feel awkward (keep slipping off). Or should I just buy a big pair of socks?

I still wear mine from 1987 every day in the winter, I love it.

I assure you as a right-hander it's just as possible to write scrawly messy with an expensive fountain pen as it is with a regular ballpoint..!!

It’s old film cameras in general for me…. I love the look of them, the way they feel in your hand and that satisfying mechanical clunk of the shutter. I’ve still got a few old ones, although I never use film these days.

I recently bought this for a few packs of acoustic strings...

It comes with a real leather fitted case and it lens folds in.

I've never owned a nice camera like that, or a nice pen, but I can imagine a nice one being rather nice.

    Nice  :)

A good set of hand tools.  Not your cheap B&Q rubbish, but some really nice spanners, socket sets, screwdrivers, nut-spinners and the like.

There is nothing more satisfying than being presented with a mechanical problem and thinking, I've got just the right tool for this job!

  • I had a sickle once. I found it in a shed. Old thing with a wooden handle. I sharpened the blade, and it just turned out to be really satisfying to use. I used it to chop back weeds and nettles. Kind of addictive in a weird way.
