Why are PMs between members visible?

I thought the idea of a PM was privacy but I am seeing everyone else’s messages to a user when PMing someone.

Using safari on iPad.

Obviously a concern if sending banking details, addresses etc. for expensive gear, etc.

<ADMIN EDIT: Just FYI, for anyone who doesn't read the rest of the thread...PMs are not visible. Messages posted on profile walls are, however. >

They should be private. I've flagged this to the modmins so they can investigate.

  • Probably because you (and others) are writing on the user's wall instead of sending a PM.

As for "when am I ready?"  You'll never be ready.  It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it.  - pmbomb

I'm not sure what the purpose of the "wall" anyway.

The purpose is...if we disable it, it breaks profiles completely.

Guilty as charged.  It's easily done.

    Can wall messages be deleted?
Yes.  By the person whose wall they are on.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.
