PS I hope the fret ends up to the standard for a “SOFT SOUTHERN POOFS” guitar maker.

  • Wow that's one damn fine looking tele. The neck is awesome, very pretty indeed!

Love those p-basses too. But I already have one of those ;)

That neck looks a bit tasty.

I always wonder why people use the traditional 4-screw  / block-heel fixing for a Tele - apart from because it's traditional of course!  Would a cutaway set-neck really change the sound that much?

I don’t think it makes any difference to the sound but as you say its tradition. But I do make them with a cut away on the under side of the heel, or a set neck with a full cut away.

^^ The second pic (which I think I've seen you post before somewhere!) is exactly what I was thinking of.  Must be so much more comfortable to play.

My Ltd (I know, not comparable quality wise) has a carved heel and it's fabulous.

I like the cut away bolt on tele, too.

Wow. Just beautiful. I'd love to see how that top looks when it's finished! And how those woods sound...

Sigh. I wish I'd known about you before I bought my necks. :P

Both the Tele bodies are mahogany.

What does Spruce with a Sycamore cap sound like with a maple neck?

I would imagine quite lively, a little bit bright but quite rich

  • I wanted it after listening to early Jonny Lang stuff. I'll post clips when it's finished.
