  • For what it's worth I think it's only fair to share the good here too. I sold 3 guitars to FBG a couple of months back, all of which were paid within 3 days of them receiving the guitars. From the outside looking in i think they've had explosive growth over the last 12 months and with a small team delays can occur - I don't think they're out to catch people and they seem to really know their stuff.

After all if you're selling thousands of pounds worth of stuff it's only fair to wait a couple of days for payment? These guys must have guitars coming in all the time so to go through each guitar accurately and then deal with hundreds of payments must be a job in itself.

Final words - give these guys a go! they're a company to watch as I really do think they offer the best service for buying & selling in the UK with a great private space and they seem to be growing larger than any other privately owned guitar dealer/store I know of in trying times. let's actually support businesses in this sector instead of moaning when they shut.
You joined up on a Sunny Friday just to sing the praises of FBG?
no but I think it's fair to share my experience which was a positive one when so many are quick to hate!

Hello Ben, nice to see you join the forum! Business must be slow eh?!!

The thing is you're not offering any balance that isn't in the thread already, you sold your guitars to FBG, you didn't use their raffle/commission sale option. So your opinions or rather their opinions don't really make a difference. There are better options for selling than FBG, and caveat emptor on the auction/raffle option as it appears they haven't fixed the problems of not paying on time. Some people were paid on time and others not even recently nothing has altered with your input.

I'm all for positivity, but it's got to be balanced and factual.

As a neutral who had never head of FBG it just looks like people are relating honest experiences in a mild mannered way.

    Well,

Looks like this Micro-E-commerce "business" is facing compulsory strike off.

I was surprised to find out that Norman Tebbit wrote the first line of the outro section lyrics on that song.

What makes you say that? I’ve just had an email saying they are opening a shop.

The sole director of Fat Bottom Guitars started another company with him as sole director in February this year.  Perhaps he intends opening a shop under that company name - Sound Cycle Ltd - and fold Fat Bottom Guitars.

Unlikely, Sound Cycle Ltd is also facing compulsory strike-off. In fact, the only one of his companies which isn't and is up-to-date with its filings is The Guitar Marketplace.

Plays slightly discordant merry-go-round music -

From Companies house information it would seem this particular company structure is as straight as Percy the Pig's bell end.

    There's
It appears the filings are up to date, but there's something wrong with the registered address. It was changed to a "virtual office" address in London a few months ago and subsequently Companies House changed the address to it's default one recently.

There's nothing wrong with using an address that's not your own as the registered address, as long as the owner of that address is aware and agrees and it meets other criteria (e.g. not a PO box address).

There could be a number of reasons it's been changed to the default address. An example may be that the person who owns the company only paid for the virtual office service for one of his companies. So when the virtual office received other Companies House correspondence with other limited companies' names, they informed Companies House that there was no company agreed to be registered there.

Yeah, I was thinking this (although one of the businesses is showing an alert for late filing). At a rough guess, it all stems from his (totally reasonable) efforts to have his home address removed from public view, which was at the root of his original complaint here prior to all the threats of legal action (and which we sorted as soon as we were made aware).

I suspect something's gone wrong with that process - whether it's a faulty filing or somebody screwing up at Companies House is anyone's guess, though.
