Played on Thursday night and had a couple of young bands as support. Guitarist from the first band used my beloved Vibrolux and as part of his ‘performance’ put his foot through the front panel cloth (in several places) and bounced it up and down on the stage.

I jumped up onstage too late to stop the damage unfortunately. I’ll spare you the details of my reaction - suffice to say he’ll be paying.

Wow. How the hell did he manage that?? When I think of things that can bounce, a Fender Vibrolux isn't very near the top of the list, that's for sure...

Just got back from a low-key pub gig with my Bowie tribute. Amps could have been a problem so I went pedalboard > Tone King Imperial Preamp > PA (other guitarist has a Kemper) and most of us used IEMs. I enjoyed the second set more than the first as I set my in-ears a bit louder, otherwise it’s like listening to everything on a transistor radio. @TimmyO kindly did the sound using my iPad. I’m afraid he was rather dropped in at the deep end mixing a 7-piece band in a weird room but he did a grand job. The main recurrent problem was feedback from the singer’s wedge monitor, which strictly was outside Tim’s remit as I’d only asked him to do FOH. IIRC Mixing Station has a feedback killer tool so I’ll have to look into that in case there’s a next time!

The organiser only told us our time slot yesterday afternoon 8pm which actually suited us as the bass player got the train so didn't want a late finish.
Supplied backline bass amp was a Fender rumble sounded pretty good. The other guitarist used the Fender Champion (good thing he had a Ds1 on his board) I used my Laney Loudpedal straight to PA. Sound was good but I did feel the Organiser/soundman could have been better organised and more efficient. He also cheesed us off a bit by trying to cut our set short.
Great venue though drinks a bit pricey (a poorly octopus for a Guiness 0).

We watched a couple of the other bands "Neepo Babies" were fun and seemed like nice lads - their total age was probably about the same as one of us.

"Jolio" were quite interesting  and the guitarist had a skateboard for his pedal board.

I can hardly bear to think about it, never mind write it down. It’s going for repair in the week, which is good, as I can’t look at it in its current state.

I for one would like to thank the venue’s many regulars who are also live sound experts for their generous input throughout the evening

I’m surprised he made it out of the place alive.

He very nearly didn’t. He was completely unapologetic as well - ‘I didn’t do anything’ (you did, everyone saw you), ‘I’ve been depressed man’ (not half as depressed as you’re going to be in a few seconds), ‘I’ve got no money’ blah blah blah. He then called me an ‘old c*nt’.

I told him to get his stuff and get out of the venue immediately, which he did. His band are paying for repairs, so at least I won’t be out of pocket.

What horrible little piece of work. If his band have any sense they'll kick him out.

Superb gig last night at a classy distillery venue.  Playing as an acoustic and piano duo with a more jazzy and laid back, cool vibes set than usual to suit.

We used our new RCF J9 column PA to fill the tall space and the sound was absolutely crystal clear and spot on. By the end we had silenced the chatty audience who were completely entranced and responsive to each tune.  Really nice atmosphere when everyone is there for the music.  Three encores later we were finally able to go home… well over time.

Rebooked immediately and got a bigger theatre gig off the back of it.  So def a good one.

Switching to festival rock band mode today, so loading Gibsons and Marshalls for the trip across country to the site in a minute!

Played one of the pub venues at Bonfest in Kirriemuir last night. Really late going on, as the previous band overran by 20 minutes into a 30 minute turnaround.

It was still a decent gig, but our drummer, who has tinnitus, had to take a break towards the end of the first set as he was feeling dizzy due to the volume. The reason for the volume? He decided to bring an acoustic kit to a pub gig. He's a very heavy hitter, and bought a set of Roland V-Drums last year to tame our overall volume at smaller gigs.

Due to space constraints, I brought an AC15 instead of my usual Marshall Bluebreaker, and I was running the MV higher than I have ever done. Thank God I remembered my custom moulded earplugs.

Just finished a festival.. far too much bass in the monitors, so a struggle to hear clearly… but… that’s summer festivals for you.  Fast turnarounds,

Audience enjoyed it though…  so all good.  Nice weather too!!

Great gig, nice crowd, very good pizza and a very nice location and venue but, well, when you book your wedding in a barn at a glamping site, you’re playing the odds with the weather gods.

It was blummen FREEZING. And wet.

In short brilliant, the best gig we have played this year. Westival is always great, the sound was not perfect on stage but out front it was excellent.

Twon gigs over the bank holiday weekend.
1st gig - My amp stopped working (always bring a backup just in case), and a guitar stand broke.
2nd gig - wasn't our best. Bit of a pity as it is a regular gig.
