I sold this SM57 in good faith after having had it in storage for a year. Foolishly never checked it and it bounced back to me as dead.

I opened it up and found that the membrane on top of the capsule had come adrift, so it needs a new capsule - the cheap chinese ones go for as little as £15, or genuine Shure ones are around £60-70.

There are videos online showing how to remove the capsule and it's a pretty easy job, just fiddly.

I don't need the mic any longer, hence I'd rather give it away to a forum member ( £5 just to cover postage ) who might want to put it back into working order.
