@Offset that looks very cool, reminiscent of the TC90 thinline Tele too

This Gordon Smith has been my 'weapon of choice' since I bought it 6 months ago. But I decided to give it the month off, and so I restrung a Strat today, it had been in a case for too long...

I really love the look of the Gordon Smith Firebird style guitars, the problem is that I go onto their website, look at them and think "£1300? Bargain!" and then I actually configure what I'd actually choose and it ends up with about another £800-1000 in options.
Still extremely good value for what it is, but it's psychologically harder to casually drop £2k+ on a guitar than £1300.

Have you had a chat with them? My first two GS guitars were custom orders, with lots of changes in spec, the first through a dealer as well, both came in only slightly more than the basic price. I have no idea why - and YMMV, but worth an email or call.

Also, the web spec is weird for the Griffin (out of date?) - different to the 'off the shelf' spec, so you may find some of your features are included. Ebony 'board and lighter body woods for example. Mine is under 7lbs. Sound Affects & Regent Sounds also have them in stock & on sale ATM:

Given the weight of that one, I suspect it isn't mahogany. I almost bought it, but really wanted the mini-humbuckers they now fit.

I've been enjoying some candy apples today:

My Levinson Blade was a bit lonely without a Telecaster sibling, so I built one.  Still needs a white switch tip, string trees and some fine tuning, but so far is sounding and feeling pretty good.  The wee cousin on the right with the quiff headstock hairstyle is an SX SST62+ 24" scale

  • From my gig tonight...

D'Angelico Excel DC into a NUX Lacerate Boost into the front of my Quilter. A bit of light slap back and the occasional bit of tremolo from a Zoom MS-50G+ in the loop.

I dislike relics but this was the best sounding & playing guitar in the shop.
    Lollar P90s are awesome

Thanks, its one I made earlier in my spare time.
A Sapele body & spalted sycamore maple top. With a PRS style (maple, sapele, ebony and aluminium tube as fret markers) neck and scale lenght with a 3 way LP  switch + P90s.
