Great sounding amp, but the project I got this for hasn't come about.

Bought used by me from mattacjones on this forum recently, hope he doesn't mind if I use his description in italics below

original owner had it built by an amp tech (Pete Searle from Exeter). Has a couple of mods, master volume - tbh doesn't work that well and only really limited use, a three way toggle in the back of the amp for no negative feedback or no cathode bias cap and the coupling caps changed to tighten up the low end. None of which I understand but it sounds great, just like a 5e3.

It is fitted with a Celestion G12 alnico blue and has an unfitted f**der badge. Pine cab. Couple of marks nothing worth worrying about.

Bargain at £420.

I'll include attenuator I got to tame it and the speaker lead required for another £70 - its a rare (and now discontinued one) made by Benson amps that does the job very well

I think it has a little too much low end for me, so I was going to change the speaker out for a slightly more suitable one. These alnico blues go for c £180 second hand, so there is a profit in the swap, but it's too much hassle for me.

Am nervous about shipping a valve amp, would prefer collection from North Finchley or nearby.

Matt's photos on this forum show the very neat inner guts and a slight mark on one side of the tweed. Happy to take more photos, just ask.
