Hey All,
After a lot of thinking, I am looking to sell my 2012 African Blackwood Tirga Beag. It is a fantastic guitar but I own a Sobell that I personally prefer with a super wide neck. The Taran has a more traditional neck width at 45mm nut and it has a great shallow C shape so it feels really nice under the left hand but it’s just personal preference that a like the extra width the Sobell has.
The guitar is in fantastic condition and has been played but not gigged since I owned it. You can see/ hear it in a couple of my videos:
Rory’s guitars have changed a fair bit since 2012 but so have their price! When I emailed Rory to ask about a replacement price, £25k+ for the most basic guitar in the same woods was the quote and that’s without the £250+ of pickup etc..
Below are the key specs:
Top: Italian Spruce
B/S: African Blackwood
Neck: Mahogany
Bridge: Ebony
Fingerboard: Ebony
Nut Width: 45mm
String Spacing at Saddle: 57mm
Scale Length: 650mm
Gotoh 510 with custom blackwood buttons.
French Polished Interior
Pickup 1: JJB Prestige 330 SBT
Pickup 2: LR Baggs Element
Case: Hiscox Pro 2
I am happy to sell outright but also would consider a part trade or full trade for a high quality, traditional 000-12 fret (Bown/ Dave King/ Oddy ideally but a high spec Collings or Santa Cruz might work too as a PX). Given that one was on Ebay for £18k a while back and that Rory just sold one on his website for £31k+; I feel that £9,000 O.N.O would be reasonable. Happy to discuss PX possibility’s on PM
I am happy to ship the guitar, at buyers’ cost, within the UK and have a very good packing method that has worked very well in the past. I am in London but would be happy to arrange a middle ground location for PX/ delivery.
Please message me with any questions.

That’s over 60% below the price of a new Taran and Rory’s order book is closed.
