+1 for the Feline. If I didn’t already have one I’d jump at that. Reminds me I must get a D-Tuna for mine.

you can tell me how the D-Tuna works then as I'm baffled, I've just not got around to removing it!

The D-Tuna is essentially a simple wedge or shim. A Floyd Rose’s fine tuners (located on the bridge) operate by applying downward pressure on the string locking screw. Pushing down on the screw pivots the saddle back and raises the pitch of the string. The farther the screw is pushed down, the greater the string tension and the higher the pitch.

The guitar detuner takes advantage of this concept by acting as a wedge between the string lock screw and the bottom of the fine tuner. It is designed to raise the pitch one whole step, from low D to E. If the pitch is not quite right, it can be fine-tuned by using the small set screw on the D-Tuna side. Tightening this screw enlarges the wedge. This creates a larger gap between the fine tuner and string lock screw, thus raising its pitch.

Cool - thanks Jonathan, I may have a play over the weekend, that does make sense and I got the shim bit but I didnt know it was adjustable :)

Yup the copper strat is nice indeed! I liked the vibe on the PRS as its kind of the opposite of what they are normally about :)

Yeah I love that it’s kind of the opposite of what normal PRS are about, if it had a fatter neck I’d be keeping it!

If the Floyd were floating rather than decked, the D-Tuna could not work. (See Jon's explanation, posted June 7th.)

Some installations involve removing one of the sprung "fingers" that balance the pressure of the fine tuner thumbwheels.

Removing the D-Tuna to reinstate the original string lock may require a full strip down of the vibrato just to insert a new metal "finger" plate. Tedious or what?
